Big Shanty is located in North River, New York (Zip 12856) and can be reached from Northway Exit 23 by following Route 9 North through Warrensburg for about 3 miles.  Take a left onto Route 28. Follow Rte 28 about 18 miles to North Creek and another 5 miles to North River and turn left on Thirteenth Lake Road. Follow signs to Garnet Hill Lodge for about 5 miles until you see a sign board directing lodge guests to the Log House, Ski Shop, etc. At that point, turn right onto Big Shanty Road and drive 200 yards to Big Shanty.
